Our client continues driving large-scale digital transformation across their national workforce and payroll systems, and is looking for a Test Manager to join their fast paced team.

With two critical programs underway - including a Time and attendance uplift and a full payroll platform replacement - they’re looking for a Test Manager to oversee testing strategy across the entire portfolio.

This is a strategic, delivery-focused role - best suited to someone who brings hands-on Payroll testing experience, creating test strategy, understands enterprise complexity, and thrives in high-stakes environments with moving parts, ambiguity and change.

The Opportunity
This role supports two highly visible and business-critical initiatives:
  1. Replacing legacy timeclock systems across 100+ sites nationally. You’ll lead testing across multiple waves, with deep pay rule and award interpretation requirements. Project is well underway
  2. Replacing Preceda with a new payroll platform, while uplifting and integrating Workday data. You’ll drive the creation of a test strategy ahead of the business case phase in Aug/Sept, then manage parallel payroll testing across both old and new platforms. This project is still in discovery and has strong visibility at the executive level.
You’ll sit across both streams, supporting test planning, managing interdependencies, so you must be able to think laterally about how to approach validation at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead test strategy, planning, and coordination across the People portfolio
  • Manage test phases across multiple waves/sites, platforms, and data points
  • Liaise with project leads, vendors, and functional teams to embed quality early
  • Own Payroll testing design - including parallel runs, data validation, pay rule testing, and integration outcomes
  • Oversee preparation for pilot site rollout (time and attendance)
  • Lead test artefact creation: test plans, exit/entry criteria, traceability matrices
  • Drive continuous improvement and provide leadership around best practice QA
  • May grow to oversee a future test support resource (TBC)
About You
  • You’re an experienced Test Manager or Lead who’s driven test strategy across complex enterprise programs
  • You’ve worked extensively in payroll and workforce platforms, and you understand the risks around award interpretation, rules config, data migration, and parallel runs
  • You’ve worked in regulated or enterprise-grade environments - but you’re still adaptable and creative in your approach
  • You’re collaborative, calm under pressure, and can engage across business and technology teams
  • Bonus if you’ve worked with tools/platforms like Preceda, Workday, Kronos/UKG, or custom workforce time capture tech
