The Role

As part of our client's digital transformation, they’re seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their Infrastructure team on a 12-month fixed-term contract , with a strong likelihood of extension.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Networks , this role plays a key part in supporting the enterprise network environment, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across critical systems and data centres. You’ll work closely with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Application, Service Management, and End User teams to deliver seamless connectivity across a complex healthcare environment.

This position offers full remote flexibility , ideally based in Melbourne, and is part of a supportive, technically skilled team that values collaboration and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple data centres and clinical environments.
  • Lead Cisco ACI design, configuration, and optimisation activities.
  • Implement network automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on integration between network, systems, and cloud platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance during critical incidents and project delivery phases.
  • Contribute to ongoing modernisation of server, storage, and compute environments as part of our clients digital transformation roadmap.
About You
  • 5–10 years’ experience as a Network Engineer in large, complex environments (preferably healthcare or enterprise-scale).
  • Strong Cisco ACI skills — essential.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE highly regarded.
  • Proficient with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) .
  • Experience in systems integration and data centre networking.
  • Confident communicator who can operate effectively under pressure and liaise with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with clinical applications or healthcare systems advantageous.
