Service Desk Officer 

Providing technical support and assistance to end-users who have issues with their hardware, software, network connectivity, or other IT-related problems. To assist with project work, such as desktop and laptop upgrades. This position is required to be on-site and will need to drive to the Council's external offices.

Objectives: 
  • Incident management: Quickly and efficiently responding to incidents reported by users and resolving them to minimize the impact on the business
  • Service requests: Addressing and fulfilling user requests for IT services, such as new network accounts, software installation, and hardware replacement
  • Problem management: Identifying the root cause of recurring issues and implementing measures to prevent them from happening again.
  • Communication: Maintaining open communication with end-users, stakeholders, and other IT teams
  • Manage end-user devices, applications and security by leveraging experience in Microsoft Intune
  • Provide IT support by utilizing knowledge in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and end-user computing technologies, such as Windows 10/11 and various user devices
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Register requests from customers
  • Solve user problems involving PCs, laptops, mobile phones, iPads, printers, peripherals, network connection and access
  • Provides first-level and second-level IT support over the phone and in person
  • Provide a system administration service, including user logon facilities such as passwords and directory creation
  • Refer more complex requests to the appropriate third-level support.
  • Document and maintain Service Desk and Support procedures.
  • Maintain, analyze, and report on statistics of user requests
  • Install hardware and software as necessary
  • Carry out projects such as PC/laptop upgrades and software upgrades
  • Provide first-level and second-level IT support from the Broadmeadows office, Craigieburn office and other Council offices
  • Use Microsoft Intune to manage devices, applications and security
  • Provide end-user computing support, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Windows 10 & 11, end-user devices, hardware, software, and network connectivity
