This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and working closely with the business. You will have the autonomy to identify opportunities, recommend solutions and drive meaningful improvements rather than simply managing external IT providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the existing systems and applications landscape, identifying opportunities to improve, consolidate and maximise existing technology.
- Work closely with the business to understand and document workflows, identify inefficiencies and implement technology and automation solutions.
- Improve the use and effectiveness of Uptick and other business and field service applications.
- Work directly with field technicians to understand operational challenges and develop practical technology solutions that improve their day-to-day workflows.
- Manage external IT consultants, vendors and technology partners, ensuring projects are delivered effectively, commercially and in line with business requirements.
- Improve the quality, accessibility and use of operational and management reporting.
- Identify opportunities for automation, system integration and improved data utilisation.
- Provide technology advice to the CEO and owners and contribute to the development and execution of the broader technology roadmap.
- Ensure the technology environment can scale effectively as the business continues to grow.
You will be a pragmatic IT professional who is comfortable operating in a small to mid-sized, fast-paced and evolving environment. You don't need a large IT team around you and are equally comfortable developing strategy, managing vendors or getting into the weeds to solve a problem.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience managing IT within a small or mid-sized business.
- A proven track record of improving processes through technology, workflow and automation.
- Strong experience managing external IT consultants, vendors and implementation partners.
- Experience with field service, workforce management, CRM or operational systems will be highly regarded.
- A modern approach to technology, with an understanding of cloud applications, integrations, automation and bolt-on solutions.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to prioritise technology investment based on business value.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both corporate and operational/field-based teams.
- An entrepreneurial, proactive mindset and the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
