About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Application Functional Consultant – Dynamics 365
to lead the design, configuration, and optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (primarily Finance & Operations). You’ll play a key role in translating business needs into effective technology solutions that enhance operational performance and service delivery across the organisation.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders to enable streamlined processes, drive platform improvements, and ensure the successful implementation of both projects and BAU enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional design, configuration, and continuous improvement of the D365 platform.
- Translate complex business requirements into functional specifications and scalable solutions.
- Configure D365 components including workflows, business rules, forms, dashboards, and entities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-design process improvements and drive business transformation.
- Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders and contribute to decision-making forums.
- Facilitate solution workshops and training sessions with business users.
- Maintain documentation including business processes, configuration records, and decision logs.
- Support change management and communication initiatives relating to platform improvements.
- 3–7 years’ experience as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant , with proven expertise across modules such as Finance & Operations , Customer Service , Case Management , or Project Operations .
- Strong hands-on configuration experience with Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps) and D365 capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and improve business processes across functions (finance, customer service, case management, etc.).
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Proven experience leading initiatives involving multiple departments and influencing business transformation.
- Strong documentation skills – including functional specs, process maps, and change control records.
- Ability to estimate effort, identify risks, and manage dependencies in functional project delivery.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
- Australian working rights and ability to obtain relevant checks (Police Check, Working with Children Check, etc.).
- Microsoft Certifications (MB-210, MB-230, MB-310, MB-500).
- Agile and/or ITIL Foundation certification.
- Previous experience working within community services, healthcare, education, or non-profit sectors is a bonus.
